In order to spread climate change awareness to our next generation, there will be a Climate Change Week Youth Workshop on May 3 to help support environmental thinking and practices in schools. The free interactive full-day workshop, held at The KL Performing Arts Centre (KLPac), is open to every secondary school in the Klang Valley and features a fun-filled educational programme for teachers and their students, providing them with the tools to plan and implement sustainable practices in their schools. The programme is open to a maximum of 12 schools, with each school sending a team of not more than one teacher with four students.

The workshop will be conducted by Elizabeth Lopez, a teacher by profession with extensive experience in conducting environmental workshops for children. The workshop programme will include helping student-teacher teams plan for a sustainable green project that can be implemented at their respective schools. Participants will also be treated to a sharing session with young UN environmental ambassador Jes Ebrahim, who at the tender age of 14, has travelled the world and contributed to numerous local and international conservation programmes. Jes also composes and performs his own songs on the environment.
