As part of its commitment to the environment, YTL Corp Bhd will host its inaugural Climate Change Week from March 6 to 9.
Scheduled for the week are free public Screenings of former US Vice-president Al Gore's Oscar nominated movie An Inconvenient Truth, which aims to dispel misconceptions about global warming: Screenings will be at the KL Performing Arts Centre on March 8 and 9.
Also, Cut Carbon, Grow Profits - a book on strategies that companies can employ to manage climate change - will be launched during the week.
This compilation of international case studies was edited by YTL financial director Ruth Yeoh and Oxbridge Climate Capital founder Dr Kenny Tang.
To stimulate corporate interest in the subject, YTL will organise a "Cut Carbon, Grow Profits" business conference on March 8. "We strongly believe environmental protection is a moral issue, not apolitical one," YTL managing director Tan Sri Francis Yeoh said.
"The world has to act now because the cost of not acting will be devastating for current and future generations," he said.
